Mortgage Loan Insurance

Mortgages with less than 20% down are required to have mortgage loan insurance added.This insurance protects the lender in case the borrower defaults on the loan. Onthe plus side, there is a CMHC Green Home Refund that can refund up to 25% of themortgage loan insurance amount.

CMHC Green Home Mortgage Loan Refund

A mortgage loan insurance refund of 15% or 25% is available to customers who buya new, energy efficient home and have their mortgage insured with CMHC. Our attachedgarage homes, detached garage homes, duplexes and townhomes are eligible for a 15%refund on the CMHC mortgage loan insurance because of the energy efficient featureswe include*. If you choose to boost the energy efficiency of your Landmark homeor make it Net Zero, the refund would be 25% of your mortgage loan insurance.

Government of Canada New Home Buyer Programs

Home Buyers' Plan

Buying a home can be an expensive proposition, especially when it’s your first one.Using the Government of Canada’s Home Buyers’ Plan may help you come up with theextra funds that could make the difference in your purchase. If you’re a first timehome buyer, or building a home for a related person with a disability, you can withdrawup to $25,000 from your registered retirement savings plans (RRSPs) to use as adown payment for your home. You have up to 15 years to pay back the funds to yourRRSP(s). Visit the Government of Canada’s website for more information.

GST New Housing Rebate

If your new home is priced under $350,000, you may be eligible to recover some ofthe goods and services tax (GST). A 36% GST rebate of up to $6,300 is availablefor homes priced under $350,000. First Time Home Buyers’ Tax Credit
